Our New Store & Important Migration Details

Hey Folks,
I’ve been working on something that has been on my mind for quite a while: our own custom-built shop. It’s now open at store.minecraft.country. That’s the same address that used to take you to our Tebex store, but it now leads to the new shop.
I wanted a store that would give me more control over how supporter memberships work and make it easier to offer things to the community. Tebex helped us get started, but over time, I ran into a number of limitations that made it hard to do what I wanted.
What Wasn’t Working with Tebex?
Some features we needed were locked behind paid plans. Even when a feature was available, Tebex didn’t always let us use it in the way that made sense for our server.
For example, when I lowered the supporter package price, the new price did not apply to people who already had a subscription. Their existing memberships stayed at the price they started with. That made it difficult to give current supporters the benefit of a price change without asking them to set up a new membership.
I also wanted a better way to track community goals. I’ve had ideas for goals that would let us work toward changes together, but Tebex didn’t give me a good way to track the progress we wanted. A community goals feature is coming soon to the new shop.
Discount codes were another limitation. I wanted to be able to offer codes for first-time purchases or discounts that could be used more broadly, but Tebex didn’t give us the flexibility we needed.
The same problem came up with temporary package discounts. It would be nice to run a holiday discount for a limited time and have it apply to existing subscriptions during that period. Tebex didn’t have a good way to do that automatically.
Those are some of the bigger examples, but there were plenty of other limitations along the way. I decided that building our own shop would give us a better foundation and more room to add the things we want over time.
What Happens to Existing Tebex Memberships?
Existing memberships through Tebex are now called legacy subscriptions. If you already have one, it will stay in place. It will not automatically move to the new shop or end because of this change. There’s no deadline to switch, and you can continue managing your legacy subscription through Tebex for as long as you want.
The packages on our old Tebex store have been hidden, and the store.minecraft.country link now takes you to the new shop. Existing legacy subscriptions are still managed through Tebex.
You don’t need to move to the new shop right away. If you’re happy with your current legacy subscription, you can keep it as it is. The new shop will not automatically change or end it.
Moving to the New Shop
If you decide you’d like to move your legacy subscription to the new shop, go to store.minecraft.country/account and log in with your Minecraft username. The shop will send a login code to you in-game.
You may also see an option to log in by email. That will only work if you shared your email address with Tebex when you set up your original membership. Most people did not, so logging in with your Minecraft username is probably the way to go.
After you log in, you’ll see two buttons by your username:
- How to cancel on Tebex opens our instructions for managing your legacy subscription through Tebex.
- Switch to the new store starts the move to the new shop.
The switch button won’t work until our new shop confirms that the Tebex process is complete. Follow the instructions for your legacy subscription first, then return to the account page and click Switch to the new store after confirmation.
Once the switch is confirmed, you’ll be asked to enter your email address and then sent to Stripe Checkout. As a thank-you for moving your legacy subscription, your first month is completely free, as long as you use the migration procedure on the new store’s account page. After that free month, the subscription renews at the regular price.
This free first month is a benefit for supporters who go through the migration process. It does not apply to a regular new purchase through the shop.
For more details, please read the warnings at the bottom of the new Supporter package page. If you have questions or run into trouble with the move, message me, and I’ll help you figure it out.
Thank you for supporting the server and for bearing with me while I worked on a new shop. I really appreciate it. Have fun!
